Realistic Re-Cap needed please

Morning(Evening)All

Was up late last night so coulndt wake up early to listen to the game cos of work, however when I got into work I decided to follow the game in one of the most entertaining ways I have foudn other than watching, that is I read the Hogs Haven Live Game tracker on one screen and the play by play on the other, it is genuinly entertaining because on the play by play you see Campbell sacked for 2 yard loss and its just another redskins sack, but you read the HH at the same timestamp and you get to see line after line of "Rabach you dud" and "Williams another Vinny Pick" adn so on, but it is also informative in that I see Campbell pass returned for TD and may think as I did for a moment "Maybe Campbell is a dud, maybe this is one mistake to many" but then HH without explaining exactly how, blames it on Davis (who frustratingly I also like but still)

So if anyone wants to give me their totally skins centric view of the game I would be very interested.  Sound like a nightmare first half, gutsy 3rd quarter but in the end class won out as the Falcons closed out the game

Quick version......

1st half: We stunk……I mean stunk. Couldn’t go anywhere and couldn’t stop them. The pick you referenced blaming Davis, was a good pass that hit him in the hands…..he missed it…..deflected and got picked and in for a TD……not JCs fault at all! Campbell was pretty much under duress the whole game but specifically the first half when he was sacked 5 times. Left the field with injury once. We also lost Portis in the first half to a concussion…..when getting tackled…..he got tagged helmet 2 helmet by 2 Falcons….each one hit him right on the earhole……he got knocked out. After the game, he said he didn’t remember anything…..doesn’t know what happened!

Second half was pretty much a different story. Skins had 2 very good drives for TDs and I believe Atlanta only had the ball for 3 offensive plays in the 3rd quarter. Campbell had to leave with injury again but came back…..showed a lot of heart and leadership in my opinion. They got within 17-24……and then Turner took the wind out of our sails with a 58 yard scamper breaking 4 tackles…most notably missed tackles by Landry and Hall who both had clean opportunities at him. There was also a good squirmish on the Atlanta sideline after Landry made a lat-hit on Ryan out of bounds. Hall went over “to get Landry out of there” and got grabbed by one of Atlanta’s coaches who would not let him go. Atlanta’s head coach got in it and even appeared to throw an elbow! I can’t believe I am saying this bc of his past…..but I believe Hall’s version. He got engulfed on that sideline and you could see him trying to get out of there but the assistant coach wouldn’t let him go! Who knows. Bottom line……Falcons 31 Skins 17

I would only add

that we had a lot of our younger players and back-ups in the game the second half and the O played some of the best/tightest football I’ve seen in years for the third Qtr. D let us down in the 4th, but at least no stupid penalties (except for Landry’s late hit). And yes, Hall got trapped and held in the melee by a Falcon’s coach and it did look like their HC took an elbow to him. We’ll see if the league reviews it.

I don't know about you

But I got this warm fuzzy feeling when Haynesworth came in and shoved about 5 guys back to the sideline.

Actually he only pushed one guy

but the whole damn team moved back a few feet when they saw him. even more impressive in my book.

Hayneworth is a beast....

and in my humble opinion…..one of the few FA bright spots for the FO. I may be alone on this, but you can definitely see the difference in our defense when he is in there. I am figuring we may have more sacks this year already than we did all of last year. We still aren’t getting those big turnovers though! I didn’t like it when they got him, but am happy now! Overall, I like our defense……it would be nice to combine Rogers and Hall into one guy….so we have a cover corner that can catch and tackle. I am also supremely disappointed in Landry this year! Thought we had another 21 back there when he came out of LSU, but he isn’t even getting big hits anymore…..even the late-hit on Ryan was weak! Offense needs a complete overhaul! It was also nice to see Marko in the game finally!

Exactly
…even the late-hit on Ryan was weak!

If you’re gonna get a late hit or roughing the passer, at least take the guy out of the game!! :-D

thanks guys

I saw that Landry missed tackle and it reminds me of the most used quote in Madden 05 (or was it 06 the one with a Viking player on the front) anway they had just bought in the big hit stick, and whenever you misa tackle Madden would say thats the problem with players in the league these days, looking for the big hit instead of just wrapping up the ball carrier and thats what Landry did there, instead of just wrapping his arms around the player and dragging him down, he went in way too low and way too early, pathetic,. and I liked LaRon too (yes past tense was on purpose not sure I do anymroe)

Whats more troubling is I got home and watched Chargers Giants last night on replay after work, and watching Rivers march his team down the field with 2:05 left and with him having all them big outlet receivers to throw to in desperation times, and the time he had to throw even with Tuck and the G-Men D-Line breathing fire the whole game, well it was just sad to watch, cos you just went, there thats what a real football team looks like!!!

We might do it for a quarter or a series here and there, but the Chargers, just look like a proper team, now we might beat them who knows, but we all know that if they play to their best and we play to our best, they would probably win

Yeah,

that was pretty amazing. He doesn’t get to go 1 on 1 often, so when he pushed the first guy, it’s like he took off and no one wanted to be number 2.
