Live Game Thread: Falcons @ Saints
Looking forward to the game tonight. Saints opened at -9, and the line already moved to 11.5. Wow. That is a big shift. Over/under 56. I haven't got to watch the Falcons this year yet, so I'll be curious to see if there's anything on either side of the ball the Skins can exploit next week.

I got way too excited when, on my way home
I heard that an NFL team had just fired their GM on the radio. I thought, perhaps, there was justice in the world and Vinny Cerrato was now unemployed. Then I remembered that the Washington Redskins do not have a GM to fire. We have an executive Vice President of Football Operations.
It has to be pretty miserable to be a Cleveland Browns fan. They have been terrible forever. But their owner has been open and responsive to their fanbase right up front. If only.

Larry Wiseman made a good point on RN last week...
Redskins do have a GM. It is Vinny. You can call it anything you want, but Vinny is the Redskins GM. The Colts don’t have a “GM”…but they’re doing OK.

I mean, yeah.
I had heard it on the radio as a tease and when they cut to a commercial my heart was doing somersaults and I almost had to pull over. But then I realized that they (Fox Sports, I guess; it was the MNF pregame on 106.7) probably wouldn’t have said “GM” if they were referring to Vinny.
And, BTW, just turned on the game and its a whole lot closer than I’d have expected.

And can you imagine if the Skins had to go play at NO?
Geez…would prob be a 40 point lop-sided game or more.

Greg Williams would have his way with us...
who’s your daddy Vinny and Danny Boy?

Anyone watching on here?
I have no idea how Greer let Roddy White catch that bomb.

Both of those teams
look better than any team we’ve faced so far this season. And we get to play them both.
I’m predicting a 5-11 season. But 4-12 wouldn’t surprise me.

Sounds.....
about right! If we are going to be on the wrong side of the Mendoza line…..may as well hope for the worst so we can get a strong draft in…..unless the FO screws it up!

What a pleasure
to watch good offensive football. These QBs, lines, RBs etc. look great. Makes watching my Skins even harder.

Good offensive football or bad defensive football
I’m not saying anything about the two teams, both are better than the Redskins.
Just saying

Howsabout
Well executed offenses with 2 QBs who are looking down field for 2nd and 3rd options; RBs who don’t go down after the first touch (or run into their own linemen because the line is getting a surge and moving people around), etc. etc.

both of those defenses are solid
it was two of the best offenses in the game

Solid Defense yes
But a top Defense? and where the performance of NO defense has people going ga-ga over the Redskins allowing Gregg Williams to leave. Gregg Williams was and is a good defensive coordinator but he would not had been any better of a head coach than Zorn.

I think people in NO are going ga-ga
over Williams. And I would call them a top defense. Not in terms of yards and points allowed, but because— in typical Greggggg style— they attack constantly and get plenty of sacks and turnovers and have played big roles in winning games for the Saints. They can afford to be so aggressive and give up 21 a game because they know the offense is gonna score 40.
People aren’t going ga-ga over Gregg Williams leaving here in town because 1) there are so many other things to focus on with the coaching staff we do have, and 2) it’s pretty well documented that Snyder couldn’t stand Williams and there is no way it would have ever worked.
If he had been the head coach, we’d still have the same problems on offense. I would love to see what Gregg would do with Orakpo and Big Al, though.

we struggled with these though, no?
Under Gregg? Or am I remembering wrong?
