O-Line or QB??  WWBD???

  • That is probably the question that our FO will be asking themselves in April & with our record it will probably be a top five pick. It looks like Hogs Haven is pretty evenly split on which direction to go with all agreeing that O-line needs to be addressed but disagreeing on the 1st pick. Both sides have a very good argument with some very good QBs coming out this year (Claussen, Stafford, McCoy, Snead, Tebow & most likely Locker) on one side & the need to be able to protect whoever is behind center on the other. It is also a relatively weak year for O-line this year as well which also confuses the picture. IMO tho, it is crystal clear, this team needs a stud Left Tackle to anchor what should be a totally revamped Offensive Line. The Offensive Line is the multiplier on any football team, they make the QB twice as good if they can give him 4.5 seconds to throw or half as good if he only has 3 seconds to throw ( JC seems to have about 2 seconds ) They give the WRs more time to get open & bigger holes for RBs to run through. Great O-lines are Redskins football ( hence the name Hogs Haven ) & us having such a patchwork Line is ridiculous. We already have one of the young "can't miss" QBs in Colt Brennan & it would be nice to see what JC can do with a little time in a system that fits our team. A couple of years ago Bill Parcells was in this situation, he had the 1st pick & could have taken a QB, he took Jake Long over Matt Ryan knowing that a good Line will make a mediocre QB look good while a crappy Line will make an entire offense look like S%$T.
