Watching Cutler in San Fran confirms Vinny has to go

Think about it, this moron (Cerrato) was prepared to Mortgage our draft future for that guy, who has now had 2 4 int games this year, and more importantly showed himself in the pre-season to be an immature locker room time bomb  PLUS he has never been a winner, College or the Pros Cutlers W-:L record is an atrocious

And VINNY decided he was worth 2 years of no number one picks and Campbell, I mean come on, even Snyder has to see it now doesnt he, thank God Josh McDaniels liked ORton, imagine our current situation, but replace a conservative QB beloved by his teammates, with a prima donna and no draft picks for 2 years to bolster the O-Line my god, it makes me break out in Cold Sweats just thinking about it...seriously stop and think about it as it deserves repeating

VINNY WAS PREPARED TO SEE US HAVE NO ZERO NONE ZILCH 1ST ROUND PICKS FOR 2 YEARS AND GIVE AWAY CAMPBELL TO BRING IN A PROVEN LOSER WHO NOW WE ALL CAN SEE IS A TURNOVER MACHINE AND NOT HAVING THEM PICKS MEANS NO CHANCE TO BOLSTER THE OLINE FOR THREE YEARS.

Its scary!!!

Are you going to post these?

every time Cutler has a bad game?? You know last week he had like 370 yards and 3 TDs.

Maybe it’s time we move on and count our lucky stars that we still have JC to lead us to our next Super Bowl.

First time I've done it

but I am just sooooooooooooooooooo frustrated and its not just a Cutler Campbell comparison

its the unbeleiveable shortsightedness, the fact that they were prepared to forgoe 1st Rd picks with an O-Line all in their 30’s, the fact that if even if you dont like Campbell (which I do, and i assume you do) but even if you dont, that if you just wait ONE YEAR thats all SIXTEEN GAMES a great crop of QB;s Bradford, Clausen, McCoy were ready to come out of College into the draft

I’m sorry Va-Skin, I always love your posts and never disagree with you, but in this case the time for civility and good manners is over in regards to Vinny,

one 3TD 300 yd Cutler game against the Browns means nothing against what he did against any good or average team Chi-town have played this year, the guy is a well known loser, he has never took a team to a winning record and they were prepared to mortgage our draft future to get him IT IS UNFORGIVEABLE JUST UNFORGIVEABLE

I could have sworn

you posted another one recently about Cutler and how he sucked and cost you money…..

OH yeah that one

but that wasnt Campbell comparison Anger that was “Why was I stupid I promised myself never to bet on a game involving Cutler or Favre and now I lost my money” anger

theres a difference :) hehehehhe

That was the cincy game, I had a five way multi-bet that was going to pay $250 and Cutler sucking and me forgetting my gambling rules screwed me!!!

He's cost me money before too :-(

And if tonight was the first time I had ever watched Cutler play, I would say he was the worst QB in the NFL. That offense was horrendous. Maybe worse than ours has been this year.

Hes joined Favre in my Golen Gambling Rule Club of

Yeah they usually are good/suck but they have the potential to play terrible/great games so it is just too dangerous to put money on any game including them because they can screw you either way.

The thing with Cutler is though, that he has never been a winner, I mean Campbell has a better career Win Loss record and he has been coached by Gibbs 2 which was OK but not great and Zorn, whereas Cutler spent his career under the supposed genius Shanahan.

AND and This is the main point of my post

That even if you think he is better that Jason, which I dont and never have, then he is not 2 1st Rd Picks better, no way is he 2 years of not having a shot at the top 5 or 10 (depending on where the pick falls) O-Linemen in the country better, just no way is he that much better and Vinny made the determination that he was

AND ONE MORE REPEAT

He did this with the Knowledge that Bradford McCoy Clausen and I suppose you can include Tebow are all coming into this years draft

The shortsightedness is just mindboggling it really is

This is not really an anti-Cutler post as much as it is a Vinny just has to go now post

shoulda checked my facts VaSkin

His 300 yd game was against Zona, but that only serves to further prove my point, it was a massive loss where he got them stats, they guy has never been a winner

Look at Big Ben for the steelers, never has great Stats, but he wins, and Vinny was prepared to mortgage our draft future for a known LOSER

I know I am repeating myself but it just is so f***in aggravating seeing Vinny get around with his shades on adn on his radio show and his big salary and never being challenged directly or when he is, just his answers are accepted with no follow up questions and he doesnt realise like he really doesnt realise that he is unbeleiveably terrible at his job, but he thinks hes good at it, it truly is mindblowing to me

Take heart

Cerrato is slowly building his own case for getting himself fired. For years he was able to hide in the shadows and deflect responsibility for the team/organization’s failures. Now, he is front-and-center as VP of Football Operations. The personnel decisions he has made over the last 2 years have had a direct impact on the collapse of this season. Sooner or later he must face the music.

Also remember.

That the media will blow-up any little bit of gossip they here. Finding out what it would take to get Cutler is not the same as being hell-bent on bringing him in. Most teams would do their due diligence when a pro-bowl QB surprisingly becomes available on the market. It just made more news with the Redskins because of the Jason Campbell “controversy” and who our owner is.

by SSBlitz on Nov 13, 2009 9:51 AM EST reply actions

Yes, I can go

with that perspective. But once you’ve worked so hard to build a reputation, as our humble owner has, you pretty much have to live with the hysteria.

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

by Scott E on Nov 13, 2009 11:06 AM EST up reply actions

Agreed.

But saying that it is unforgivable that he “tried” to get Cutler, is somewhat ambiguous when the definition of “tried” has been over-inflated by speculation.

by SSBlitz on Nov 13, 2009 11:24 AM EST up reply actions

based on precedence

I’m willing to go more with what’s written than what Danny/Vinny says solely based on their track record that we’ve ALL been a witness to.

by Rekka on Nov 13, 2009 11:27 AM EST up reply actions

I don't think it's one or the other.

Both stories are extremes.
Snyderrato say they “looked in to” trading for Cutler (and up for Sanchez) but it was too expensive.
The media (or at least some of it, including whichever Pommylee is reading) says they were front of the line, willing to give away multiple future picks if the other teams would let them.
I like to use some common sense to estimate the actual dealings were somewhere in between.

by SSBlitz on Nov 13, 2009 11:57 AM EST up reply actions

I tried to do that too

but common sense doesn’t apply when it comes to the upper echelon of this organization.

SpotieOtieDopalicious

by Rekka on Nov 13, 2009 12:03 PM EST up reply actions

I agree with you Blitz

I was always skeptical of the media’s portrayal of the extent to which the organization had pursued Cutler and Sanchez. I never had the sense that the deal was definitely going to get done, it always seemed like they had made an inquiry (doing their due diligence) and next thing you know every story is that its just a matter of time til Campbell is packing his bags. And I hated the explanation that “This is just what Danny does,” it doesn’t make sense and is piss-poor reporting.

But its really infuriating that they didn’t have the decency to make a stronger statement in defense of Campbell. If you don’t think that it would have made a difference, you are ignorant. Jason’s biggest problem is complete lack of confidence in everything around him. He doesn’t trust his receivers, his line, his running backs, his play caller, his coaches, or his front office, nor should he. If Vinny had the first idea about how to run a football team, the offseason would have been handles completely differently and we’d be in a much better position right now.

by Boo. on Nov 13, 2009 1:21 PM EST up reply actions

it's nothing to be infuriated about anymore

Campbell is gone next season. So everyone that thinks he sucks, take heed. He will no longer be in burgundy and gold come this next offseason.

You only have to wait about 8 more games. What’s that compared to 10+ years, right? :)

SpotieOtieDopalicious

by Rekka on Nov 13, 2009 1:26 PM EST up reply actions

I remember comments to the made to the media.

That Zorn and Campbell kept very close ties throughout the offseason. They also said that Campbell had met with Vinny and Snyder to discuss the situation and the attention around it. Snyderrato has never been big on speaking to the media, so I don’t think he would speak to Campbell through them.

I think a lot of it is the same with Zorn no longer calling plays. The media will snowball it into a big deal, but the actual fact is that Zorn had the responsibilities of 3 or 4 people. He wasn’t able to give the gamplanning/playcalling the attention it deserved, so they brought in help. I’m sure Zorn isn’t feeling as ‘castrated’ as the media makes him out to be.

by SSBlitz on Nov 13, 2009 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

Why would they even let anyone know what they were up to?

1 – They are proud grazers at the League FA Buffett and want to cover up previous failings by showing effort – however misguided?
2 – They wanted to light a fire under Jason’s butt?
3 – They are just crass, hollow men who don’t understand the sensitivities of the modern NFL athlete?
4 – All of the above?

i understand scepticism of the media

but in this case, pretty much all storys point to McDaniel CHOOSING Orton over Campbell, so if McDaniel had chosen the other way we would have lost Campbell and More Importantly them Number One picks and gained some locker room poison in its place

Again this post is not about Campbell, its about the organisations lack of forward planning and long term strategy, I’ll repeat just once more I promise

even if you dont like Campbell, waiting one year meant you had a shot at McCoy BRadford Clausen and even Tebow, and there were massive question marks on Cutler and if you got him no picks to use on the O-Line

by Pommylee on Nov 14, 2009 2:56 AM EST up reply actions

I kinda believe in decency and fairness

so in one sense I almost wish it were Cutler taking the beating every week instead of JC. Then again, Orton seems to have little leisure time in his pocket either, so it may have been the frying pan to the fire for JC.

Also, IMO Orton has done a better job for the Broncos then I think JC would have as they have some line issues and have been leaning on the quick passing game more than we.

Pretty much all the stories.

Are all based on the same story. One analyst writes it, the others jump on it like it’s fact for their own article. I remember when the Sanchez trade was being hyped, I spent a lot of time trying to find any source to see what the rumors were based on. Every article (whether ESPN, SI, PFT, CBSSports, etc) was referenced back to a Steve Wyche nfl.com article in which he said a source told him. That’s it. Everything else was built on that until Verrato told the media after the draft that they had looked at what it would take to get him, and it was too expensive.

Cutler....

Karl Mecklenberg gave me a lot of great dirt on Cutler when I talked to him yesterday (that post coming on Monday)…..after reading this, you’ll see it’s clear Vinny needs to go and Snyder is a bafoon.

I thought that information was already confirmed by everyone here on HH. Anyone with a brain already knew this was true about the two of them.
