Well played coach. Calm the F down next time.

I think that answers the question about coaches being held to a higher standard

We should get a 15 yard penalty banked that we can use the next time we play the Falcons. That would be awesome.

Good.

You know....

This is fair, but from your guys’ end I wish things had turned out differently. I think Hall should’ve gotten hit with something for his role in the whole thing, and Haynesworth was just heading over to bail out Hall after he got himself into the mess in the first place, so I don’t think he should’ve been hit in the wallet at all.

Glad to move on, though. Good luck this week against Denver!

I still don't think Hall did anything

more than react to being grabbed by the performance coach. Why, may I add, wasn’t the performance coach fined? He seemed to be the instigator and prolongerer of the whole situation, the Landry foul aside. Not that I’m trying to prolong the issue. Time to move on.

He was fined $2,500, according to Adam Schefter

I agree he probably should’ve gotten more.

Yes

I just came back after reading the about the $2.5K fine. Seems low by comparison. Things could have gotten real ugly in a hurry without coaches doing their part to restore order.

Hall was saying something.

He definitely deserved to be included in this. I’m just glad that Mike Smith got his. No coach should be punching a player or whatever he was trying to do.

So what if Hall said something?

He didn’t come in there talking, he responded to everyone getting in his face and talking to him. He’s got a right to at least verbally defend himself, and if he had punched Jeff Fish (the performance coach who held him in the middle of that pack), I wouldn’t have faulted him for it. Of course, he would have gotten fined then, but I still would have supported him lol.

YES...

Hall was talking – he had an opportunity to leave right away. He was mouthing off while Landry was walking away. Then Fish grabbed him (and Fish should have been fined more than $2,500). The worst thing that Smith did was grab and shout. The “punch” or “elbow” was not intentional, I think many people, even on this site, would agree.

I’m guessing the refs were interviewed, so they probably had an account of what happened. Obviously, they implicated Smith to some degree for him to be fined so heavily. I’d like to hear what the league’s logic/reasoning was on this fine.

I do think it’s bull that coaches are held to a higher standard. Everyone out there is supposed to be an adult. They should all be held to high standards, not just the coach.

By the way...

Good to know Hall is always willing to “mix it up.” Str8 thug, yo.

Forget that

I’m trying to prolong this. What else do the Redskins have to motivate them? That was one of the only moments in a while where players have shown some life. This should be motivation to the Defensive unit. “We let one of our guys get mobbed by an entire team. We can’t let ourselves look that weak and detached from each other.” Something like that.

Good points all around

We need SOMETHING to motivate these guys – and I’m ashamed just to have to say that.
