A Twinkle of light in an otherwise dark season
A lot of posts have cast a dark shadow over the season, not without good reason, but I found something that makes me truly excited about watching the game this Sunday. I’m not talking about Denver losing its last two games or the skins offense showing potential in the second half, I’m talking about Marko Mitchell (hopefully) being rewarded for moving the chains twice last week.
The Preseason standout saw action on 12 snaps last week and I’m wishing that with our seasons hopes nearly obliterated we will take this time to let M squared, no not Marcus Mason, get some serious playing time. From everything I’ve read and watched this kid does and says all the right things; His fellow wide receivers admire his work ethic and his ability to attack the ball, the DB’s rave about his physical nature and when asked about his two clutch passes vs the falcons he responded with;
“It felt good to have my first NFL catch and get on the stat sheet or whatever, but I think I would have felt more excited about it if we got the ‘W,’“
Classy response for a young player, I believe he has what it takes to have a very successful career in the NFL and I hope he’s earned himself another half dozen snaps and a few more targets.
He’s a big physical player who has been itching for an opportunity since preseason to come out here and show us that he can bring it and now that he’s had his chance let’s hope he’s hungry for more.

Really like this kid.
He was good for first downs last week but his specialty is the big play. It is promising that he can do both.
I think Marko is breaking through the arrogance of our franchise
That arrogance being that since he was not a high-dollar free agent or a top draft pick, he can’t be any better than ARE, Devin, or Kelly. It has kept a lot of players buried on our depth charts in recent years. (I know Chris Horton broke through, but the safety position was a bit thin at the beginning of last season.)
Speaking of Horton......
He was placed on IR today!!!! Done for the year! Guess it’s time to see what Kareem has got to bring to the table!!!
The arrogance of which you speak
contributes to the overall malaise of this team. All professionals want to see the best team on the field for any specific down and situation. Not letting the true performers and the hardest workers play is a nut-buster to players on many levels. It results in less than best efforts in practice which translates into poor play among other detriments. IMO

the fans as well.

My new mental approach.....
I have found the cure to the mental drain I have had to go through this season! With expectations so high and the result so……..Snyderish, I have pretty much had to tear down all my Skins blinders to find a new way to look at cheering for this team…..and it’s brilliant! HAHA!
It’s very simple….we may have another couple years of struggling, but at some point….this team is going to improve. So….we all have something great to look forward to, but maybe we are just a little too impatient. On the other hand…..fans of the Colts, Patriots, etc. are loving life right now…..but historically speaking….their teams will be shit again when their big name QBs are done……and they will be where we are. SO….we really have 3 things to be excited about:
1) It’s football season
2) The Skins can pretty much only get better
3) The great teams we hate now….will suck again
