Redskins Moving?
Hey guys, I am an Eagles fan, so you probably hate me, but i have a question that you guys might know the answer to. I was reading this article and it said that there are a couple teams interested in moving to L.A. The Skins are one of them. Are they really even considering moving to L.A.? If they do, won't it mess up the divisions (but then again, i guess not, since DALLAS is in the NFC EAST.) Thanks.

AS mucha s you are just writing this to jsut try and wind ppl up
The answer is still no
I am pretty sure (and this is just a blatant guess) that when the good ppl of Maryland allowed their Taxes to be used to build Fed Ex Field there was some sort of lease agreement signed with the Skins that kept them there for 20/25 years surely

I have heard this rumor but....
there is no substance, Even though you are an Eagle’s fan…..and our team is a little down right now, surely you recognize the history of this team. There is now way the Skins move out of Washington! Their stadium could move in the future (I have heard Ashburn and a few other cities mentioned), but the team isn’t going anywhere. It is one of the highest grossing teams in the league and has no problems filling the stands (for now).

They would have to
change their name; as the left coasties would never tolerate a team named the Redskins.

but didnt the Baltimore Colts fans used to say the same thing
one good thing if they do move, we get to Stop Supporting a team Snyder owns and feel no guilt about dumping them for someone else

IF this were to happen
I would like to see Snyder take the team but leave us the records/tradition of the team that is here now. He could pull a Modell and set up shop in L.A. as long as we can have another team in the future.

Not gonna happen
Majestic (the company paying for the stadium) is being pretty open about this process and have already narrowed down their list of candidate teams:
Majestic has targeted seven teams it plans to approach after the Super Bowl in February about move to the Los Angeles area: the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.
All except Minnesota and San Francisco seem like they’d listen pretty intently to someone asking them about a move.

I’ve actually heard the Vikings pretty seriously out of all these squads, except for St.Louis. They have an old stadium and can’t usually fill it. Remember the playoffs last year? The game was almost blacked out. Its a little different this year just b/c of Farve, but Minnesota moving to LA is legit. Its happened before (Lakers), also don’t you remember when the MLB almost got rid of the Twins awhile back?
Minnesota is going to keep it real and use LA as big time leverage for a new stadium, the Raiders and San Fran can also use it as leverage against their respective cities.

With what may be the biggest fan base in the NFL
I never thought I’d see it ran into the ground the way it has been.
Their isn’t ANYTHING that would suprise me anymore, especially when your top advisor is on record as saying this is a playoff caliber team. I don’t think this will ever happen but remember that everytime you think about this subject, Dan has one thing on his mind and It’s not the fans. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

0% chance....
The Eagles should be on the list to move the team….since they can’t ever win a Super Bowl.

Please stop posting these ridiculous fan posts that have no backing to it what-so-ever.
Pisses me off, the Redskins moving….Please, that is just downright stupid to even bring up.

I wonder...
what the cost of relocation of Snyder to LA would be, let him take the players but keep the Redskin franchise right here! I did hear a rumor that he is looking to “borrow” a substantial amount of money ( starts with a B), just a house rumor in the bank that I overheard.

Could it be....
to build a better stadium in this area? I know a few years ago there was a lot of talk about around Ashburn since their practice facility is there!

If you think traffic is bad now going to games
Imagine a stadium in Ashburn. Not many major roads there except for 28, 66, and the Dulles Greenway. Plus, I don’t think the residents around there would go for it. Virginia screwed the pooch when they could have had it at Potomac Yards, which is at least near public transportation. A stadium in Ashburn would have zero public transportation options, and be just another FedEx Field situation even further away from D.C.
If Snyder wants to build a stadium, I would suggest he go for something in a little smaller size and put it at the RFK site downtown. A 65000 seat stadium would be perfect for that site. The parking is already there and could probably handle a stadium that size, and the Metro station is already there and right around the block. A smaller stadium would probably raise ticket prices, because demand would probably outweigh supply, but it would keep out an opposing fan invasion like we had with Pittsburgh last year.

R U kidding
I thought Fed Ex was only about 15 years old (although I could be wrong) but if I’m right how many new stadiums do you need, surely a stadium, particuarly one build with taxpayer money in a country with no free healthcare should be good for at least 30 years shouldnt it
ANd I did not mean this to get political, im just making hte point that the Stadium is fairly new and surely you guys in America have better things to spend your money on that a billion dollars to improve the fan experience and comfort maybe 10% and increase a billionaires net worth by 40%

and thank god I’m not an eagles fan, one of the few things more painful than being a Skins fan at the moment
I dont get them dudes to be honest, I checked out the Philidelphia Enquirer once when the Eagles were doing well and they still get slaughtered by their fans and journos
Imagin if they had to follow the skins, I think there would be lynchings

Redskins moving
No doubt this rumor has been started by the Redskins to temper fan unrest. But they are miscalculating. It would the the BEST thing in the world if Snyder moved the team to LA. Under the Art Modell precedent, the league would force him to leave the name “Redskins” behind, along with its legacy. With DC’s history of fan support, wed get a new team licketysplit. It would be like trading our owner. Anyone but Al Davis would be an upgrade.

worked out for the Browns?

hows our current situation working out for us!!!!
nah your right, you cant gamble on losing a team just to be rid of the owner, but you gotta admit its tempting, short of assassination its the only way we get someone other than Snyder in the next 50 years
