Week 7: Eagle vs Redskins
It's time. The annual Eagles vs Redskins this Monday night. It is a crucial game for both teams. The Eagles need to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to the Raiders. While the Redskins need to save their season and their head coach, Jim Zorn. It's no doubt that the Redskins have had a poor season, playing six win less teams this season and losing to three. So here are some questions I have for you.
1. Who do you feel more comfortable with? Todd Collins or Jason Campbell vs Eagles?
2. What improvements do you have to make on both sides of the ball?
3. Which player do you guys NEED to shut-down?
4. Who will win?
Here are my answers from an Eagle's point of view for you guys.
1. While Jason Campbell has a tendency to turn it over, his athleticism is definitely needed against a quick blitzing Eagles defense.
2. We NEED TO RUN THE BALL. Show some balance of offense. Last week Westbrook: 6 attempts for 50 yards. On Defense, we need to cover the TE and properly tackle.
3. We need to shut down Chris Cooley, we cant let him have a monster game.
4. Eagles, srry but blow out.
Bonus Question:
How do you guys feel with Zorn not calling plays? And do you feel with reason "rumors" saying he might resign?
Thanks

If he wasn't religious...
at the beginning of the season, he will need to be one to finish it alive.

This could be an exciting game
or not. Any enthusiasm the offense might muster is going to be shut down in frustration with the “smoke signal” play calling system they are trying to set up. Remember, the first link in the set up is a guy who doesn’t know the terminology.
Wouldn’t it be great if he accidentally calls really good plays because he doesn’t know the playbook?!

my thinking is
that the redskins, no matter how dysfunctional we are, are still men with pride. the veterans on this team like london, cp, cooley, hall, etc have enough pride to play respectably on national tv after a week of more media scrutiny than the redskins have seen in a long time (which says a lot, considering its us). were a national joke this week, everyones making fun of us. this is the perfect time to rise to the occasion

Is Jason Peters playing?
If Peters is out, it is going to be a sack fest for both teams.

I think
Peters is playing. BUT, the line only gave up 2 sacks last week, both with Collins in. Granted KC doesn’t have much of a pass rush to speak of, but I think they will be up to the challenge.

The injury report comes out after practice today, but it looks like he is going to play. Hopefully he is limited somewhat and can be exploited by Orakpo/Carter/Jarmon/Haynesworth. We already know winston justice can’t stop anyone on the other side.

Test Peters
early and often. Put Haynesworth on him and see if the leg can survive. The Eagles season will go down with their offensive line. Peters’s substitute did not do well against Richard Seymour.

OH YEAH..............
Peters is playing my friend and also Todd Herremans is coming back. Tuff break for u guys with Samuels, even tho im a eagles fan i gotta respect vets like that. I hope his career doesnt end like this. Fuk Levi Jones, im just glad Snyder hasnt signed Runyan yet.

sack fest
Is that sort of similar to a sausage fest?

Shut down
The defense better be up to the task of neutralizing Desean Jackson. I think we can contain Westbrook, but we can’t afford to give up any big plays if we want to keep the game close.

1. Who do you feel more comfortable with? Todd Collins or Jason Campbell vs Eagles?
Campbell. With our swiss cheese Oline…Collins would be knocked out early anyway.
2. What improvements do you have to make on both sides of the ball?
Defense: Stopping the run on the outside. Teams are constantly able to get around the corner on us…and I expect to see a lot #36 sweeps.
3. Which player do you guys NEED to shut-down?
Everyone on your Dline. As much as the Eagles zoneblitz…the RB is going to be our best blocker.
4. Who will win?
Eagles by a blowout. It’s not that I think we can’t compete, it’s just I don’t think our offense will be able to stay on the field and like most games, our D will be hung out to dry. Skins rank in almost the gutter for time of possession.
As for Zorn, it’s all true he has too much on his plate. But bringing in a guy (Sherm Lewis) without consulting Zorn…then giving Lewis the keys to the offense w/o talking to Zorn is blasphemous. Pathetic way to run a front office.

Funny how...
Snyderatto give Zorn a vote of confidence thru the season “and hopefully beyond” after they have stripped him of play calling and game management responsibilities. He may as well dress up as a cheerleader and start high-kicking.

This is a no win situation...
If the team sucks it up and plays well (especially on offense) on national TV and we win, then Snyderatto come off looking good and Zorn looks bad. If they play as badly as they are capable, we lose and the rest of the season is further jeopardized with further turmoil.

a win against the Eagles
would be a fluke and only serve as a win for Snyderatto. Most likely we’ll get blown out in the 2nd half.
