There is another debacle brewing...
Is it me or do we seem to be continually rearranging the deck chairs on our proverbial titanic?
The Washington Post is reporting that Redskins OC Smith will move to the sidelines and will relay the plays to QB Campbell after getting them from OC Sherm in the box.... HC Zorn will still be allowed to listen in but do nothing....The title of the article should have read:
"Redskins offense is going to be playing telephone on the sidelines while the Eagles devour Jason Campbell".
Seriously, how much farther will this circus go?

Play-calling...
It should go…like this w/ everyone having head-sets…
Snyder→Cerrato→Sherm Lewis→Sherm Smith→Campbell

Remember...
the classroom thing where the teacher starts off whispering a phrase to one student and it gets repeated from one student to the next and the last person says something completely different from the original phrase?
Well, that has the makings of a great game plan, because it has to be an improvement over what they have done so far this year.

Eliminate KevinE's middle men
and it would be transparent that Snyder knows nothing.

That picture...
priceless! The only thing better would be a series of cans and string.

The good news for JC
is that with all the delay of games penalties, he will be well rested to run for his life each play.

Not when...
the first link in the system doesn’t even know the terminology in Zorn’s playbook.

Here’s the thing though, you’re making a mountain out of mole hill. I’m sure Sherm is a smart guy and has put together a call sheet, probably with the first 10 to 15 plays scripted. Sherm’s not going to call in a play using the terminology or yelling out “Deuce Right X55 Slant, Y97, H bravo, Alert 14”. All the guy is going to be saying is a number on the sheet and Smith will take it in and relay a # that JC looks up on his armband.
I’m sure the reason Smith is calling it in, is so there is no lapse in the terminology.

Yes, I see your point...
but we have delays of game under normal circumstances and you cannot predict every down and distance + game situation(late, etc.) so you won’t have many or even any options planned for every play. (Hope that made sense). At some point he has to make decisions rather than do a table lookup. It’s either going to be dumbed down to childs play or the best called game in recent Skins history. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

You would think
that scripted plays are a bad idea b/c they don’t consider game situation. Normally I think scripting plays is silly, but this way we don’t have to see another 3rd and 1 run left play.

we have delays of game under normal circumstances
We do? We have TWO Delay of games all year, and one of them was on purpose against the Rams! The other came in Detroit.
This guy is a proven/veteran NFL OC, I think he knows what he’s doing. You don’t think that he has gone over every possible situation this week and picked 4 or 5 plays for abstract situations?

WTF? You don’t think a guy that has 3 Super Bowl rings as a coach can get the job done. What am I smoking? What did I say that wasn’t logical at all?

I'm with pas...
Let the guy get a week or 2 in and let’s see…..his ex-players speak very highly of him (Chris Carter and Antonio Freeman). He has a downfield mentality…..which fits our QB and receivers! Give hime a chance…..if it doesn’t work after a few games…..blast away!

Hopefully they script the first 15 plays
I don’t see how this is going to work without planning out the first series or two of plays. JC should also be given a few hot plays to call when things break down….because they will. This is probably too much to expect from them at this point.

At least Snyder...
isn’t making Zorn suit up in a clown suit…or maybe I speak too soon.
