Per Rick Maese ...per Twitter...Sherm Lewis is OC....
I am not sure why they are saying Zorn and Cerrato were getting together today to pick a new play caller but per Rick Maese , Redskins beat reporter for the Washington Post,:
"Two sources confirm newly-hired consultant Sherm Lewis will call plays next week vs Philly. Lewis wasnt play-caller for those great GB teams"
This was posted on Twitter just before midnight. I am a little sceptical of Sherman Lewis calling plays. This tweet is absolutely corrrect because Holmgren called all the plays on those great Packer teams while Sherm was there. Hopefully he learned more from Holmgren since he was on OC with him than Zorn since he was just a QB coach!

Next season
Demote Vinny to parking lot attendant, bring in a competent GM whose first order of business will be to get Danny a new trainset to play with in his treehouse, then commence to rebuilding the team, starting with the O-line.

Don’t you mean draft Colt McCoy with the high pick, draft skill positions next around him so he has weapons, then start him first game with Heyer as our starting LT?
Oh, and don’t forget the next puppet at head coach who doesn’t have any personnel decisions.

If you demote vinny
to parking lot attendant, nobody will be able to get to the damn staduim. I have faith that he would screw that assignment up also.

can he handle that?
I’m referring to VC and I’m not sure he could handle parking lot attendant duties.

How About...
We sign a few more “legendary” FA’s? Yeah! And then we could… sign a new coach. Alright! Then plug one or two holes with the draft picks…. and then it’s as easy as creating lots of hype about how our players have progressed over the offseason.
Lot’s of hype! High expectations!
Oh, wait a minute… are we talking about next season or this season? Or the season before that? Or the season before that? Or the season before that? Or the season before…..

TODD " The Statue of Liberty" COLLINS EXPERIMENT IS OVER !!!
Thank God, the Todd ball experiment is over. What part do you Campbell haters not understand . Todd Collins Had a good run a couple of years ago because he had been in the same ( AL SAUNDERS) offensive system for years prior to coming to Washington ! The shoe is on the other foot now. JC 17 knows this new offensive system better than Collins and with this sorry Offensive Line Collins looked like a pinata !!
WE had the ball twice within the last 4 minutes of the game .
Will someone tell me how many times this week TODD “The Statue of Liberty” COLLINS practiced the hurry up offense / two minute drill this week ??? zero
What head coach does not put his starter back in when the game is on the line and he needs to run a two minute / hurry up offense ?? JIM "The Idiot " ZORN

Yea it was uglier with Collins in there
He wasn’t decisive and couldn’t find the receivers either (though it doesn’t help when you call two corner fades to Moss and El in our one trip to the redzone)… (Seriously what the fuck). Jason has showed that he can bounce back after a bad half. In fact, the 3rd quarter has been our best quarter all season.
That said, Jason had absolutely no confidence in his line. He was too nervous and thought he had to check down way too early. He clearly does not trust Thomas or Kelly at all.

Our New Boy Sherm
Skins O will improve this week not in part to Sherm’s playcalling but to the blunt fact it can’t get worse.
Atleast I can change the channel on the TV, unless the feed screws up first. One of the few times I enjoyed having bottom barrel commentators.

The optimist in me is thinking that Lewis will have the common sense to throw a fade to one of our tall receivers, and we’ll actually be able to score a few points against the Eagles. Yet, the pessimist in me is saying “no, you’ve been let down entirely too many times by this team, don’t get your hopes up.” I don’t know what to think about this team anymore.

Will it matter with this OL?
Did you see the ‘fumble’ play where their DE beat both Heyer and Sellers (pushed them both back) which is why the fumble occurred. Is that an real NFL OL? It’s not like the Chiefs are a great pass rushing team and 2 guys can’t handle 1? How do a OT and a FB not know how to block?
Was I the only one who wondered why we had to pass the ball 3 times after CP’s long run? Didn’t that run show they have a suspect run defense? So what was Zorn thinking? I can understand CP needing a breather after the longest run of his career (according to the announcers) but to be out the entire series in the red zone seems stupid. And what does that say about our other RBs? Not 1 of them can fill in and run the ball? Come on! And once again we didn’t have our bigger WR’s on the field.
And what’s the point of keeping Zorn now? He obviously can’t motivate the players and now he isn’t calling plays and I don’t see JC making an improvement. So why keep him around?

is this our OL for the rest of the year?
That’s a scary thought. I wouldn’t be surprised if JC would want to be part of a trade, maybe Cleveland where they have a decent LT.
While I like ORakpo when he plays DE, didn’t we pass on LT Oher who only allowed 1 sack this weekend going against Jared Allen? I’d rather have an OT.

Zorn has been
completely emasculated by Snyderrato. No chance Vinny thought that Zorn would actually accept the demotion, they were hoping he declined so they could fire him guilt free. If Zorn has any balls he’ll resign during his press conference right before Vinny steps to the podium to introduce Lewis as OC . I wonder how far Vinny’s eyes will pop out if that does happen.

I would like to see that happen, but I think Zorn wants to hang on to his last big paying job. I don’t know his salary (1-2M?), so riding it out will at least get him paid well. Getting fired means he gets paid too…walking away and not getting paid is not going to happen IMO. Zorn is not getting another HC or OC job so he needs to pocket the money from this job.

I don't want to part with any draft picks
and I don’t think any teams are looking to trade competent Olineman mid-season anyway. We’d have to give up something on the defensive side to get anything of value, and I’d prefer to keep it intact for now. It’s one less thing to worry about.
Maybe we can get something for Landry in the offseason.

Area 51 two years later
What happened to #30? His open field tackling has been porous and is still going for the big hit (and missing) too many times. He’s really been slacking this season. Our secondary is looking as weak as our O Line at times.

- needed to step up this year for us to take it to the next level on D……..he is still missing tackles and just running around doing nothing………not worth the 6th pick…not even close…….I thought out secondary looked good on paper…they are all pretty soft except Reed and Horton…….Hall is a pillow and Rogers has stone hands……

Trades
I love JC and I am always for keeping draft pics but…
I think we should trade JC and his expiring contract for Brady Quinn
and trade a 2nd rounder at most for Shawne Merriman so that Orakpo can be moved to DE and since Fletcher is getting old.
by word2bigbird on Oct 19, 2009 11:04 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Sorry but both of those ideas are terrible
Quinn is significantly worse than Campbell and Merriman isn’t staying around unless we give him big bucks, and it wouldnt be worth it anyway, he has lost a step this year. We desperately need to keep our 2nd round pick.

trades
I was joking on trading JC because his contract is about up. Why trade for him when you can just sign him in the off season?
From what I’ve seen from Quinn that would not be an improvement, in fact I think he’s worse.
I don’t want Merriman as he hasn’t been the same since he stopped juicing.
So I say no to trades and we let’s keep all of our draft picks and rebuild the right way. The Snyder way hasn’t worked in 10 years.

trades
no you guys are totally right…
we they need to do is trade some of these useless players away and get some draft picks
word on the street is that cerrato is also likely to get the boot. so hopefully if we all keep up the pressure and are in common with getting a GM then maybe Napoleon will get a good FO man from the Ravens, Patriots, Colts, or Steelers.

Oooh a great idea...
When Samuel’s announces he’s done for the year, instead of getting line depth why don’t the Redskins sign Chase Daniels off the Saints practice squad. With Chase being under 6 foot then maybe the Defensive lineman won’t be able to find him to sack him behind the redskins line. No JC, No Collins…should make everyone happy.
Owho! first let’s take play calling away from the head coach, using a coach who hasn’t really done a lot of play calling
Then…..
When the FO is change, real change will occur, otherwise it’s just stupidity run over and over again…
