DEEPER ISSUE
I heard on ESPN radio this morning the guy from the Eagles TV I think say something like "Snyder is the worst owner in the history of profesional sports." Well, he may be very close. We've not been really good since he took over. Okay..we've made playoffs a time or two but really not something you can count on. And Cerrato is just awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at all the mistakes we've made because of NO PATIENCE!!!!!!!! Just recently they've goofed by 1) Not keeping Gregg as the HEAD COACH and 2) trading away Bailey. I remain convinced to this day that was a terrible move. You can always find a pretty decent running back to work for you. Plus, if Clinton really wanted to get out, Dan would've paid for it. Really though, how many good consistent shut down corners are there and our pass defense is very suspect recently since that trade. Springs?!?? If I had money for every time he was hurt I could own the Skins. Really, I don't think that loss was that terrible after we regrouped but our overall performance won't get better until we make some changes at top. Synder looks like a buffoon for giving up on so many people way too early!!!!!!!!

champ
so many people forget that champ didnt want to be here at all. the fact we got cpo for him was clearly a great move. anyone in their right mind would take champ and the 2nd round pick side of that trade. but we never had a chance at keeping him. reason being the horrible moves snyder made that created a lack of continuity.
so snyder cost us champ but at least he got something in return.

champ
not to mention that he was on the decline anyway. hes still a great corner…when healthy, but he often isnt anymore. trading someone in the declining stages of their career who doesnt want to play for you for an up and coming 22, 23 or whatever he was running back who was putting up historic numbers (system or no) is always a good move.
and passing judgment on snyder’s choice of a head coach after one game, especially a road game against the defending super bowl champs demonstrates quite a lack of PATIENCE, wouldnt you say?

I think this is one of the most prevalent
Redskins related discussions and want to encourage it among readers, but I’m going to sit it out on the sideline, at least for now. I’m unwilling to accept that we’re incapable of substantial success under Snyder, but I’ve also been critical of some of the things he’s done, even some of the things you’ve cited specifically. I’m undecided.
Chris Cooley on Snyder, just food for thought:
This week our coaches were nothing short of outstanding in our NYG preparation. We even had a special owner pep talk to kick off our week and let me say Dan Snyder is a exceptional speaker. Really, no bullshit, he was awesome! He walked out the door and I was ready to put the pads on.
After all was said, it was too tough to narrow my quote of the week to one, so I’ve chosen three.
Dan Synder "Redskins football is violent, physical, violent f****** football! If we play that way we will win…if we don’t…we will lose.
We didn’t, and we did.

The Deeper Issue Agreed
I am in total agreement about the mismanagement of the franchise. To not address your glaring needs is absolutely unacceptable. I’m getting tired of the nonsense. We still don’t know the real reason why Gregg wasn’t hired. Maybe its because he told Dan the truth….something that I’m pretty sure that Vinny will never do because he’s afraid of losing his job. If you look at Vinny, its almost like you can tell he doesn’t have a clue. Wasn’t he working the gates at FedEx 10 years ago? I could care less about how excellent a speaker Snyder may be, its the decision making that I have a severe problem with. One dumb decision after another. I can’t even defend us when my friends who are fans of other teams, talk about how we lack leadership in upper management. Its true.

daniel snyder has a problem he doesnt let his coaches do that scouting of players, the signing of players, or anything he gonna keep a hands on approach with the team he needs to look around not alot of successful owners do that. he has to let the coaches do there job and maybe JC will be better the offense will be better and the defense will be better. i think ol’danny boy thinks this is a game of madden where you get all the best players and they get you a super bowl but this int a game and last year means shit cause the next year you could be ass. and thats what been happening in washington since we had this guy danny boy

My concern
with Snyder isn’t the scouting, I actually believe he does let others do that, but more on the “signing” end and my only evidence regarding that concern was the much publicized Lance Briggs back-and-forth of a year or so ago. If my memory serves, Joe Gibbs was asked by a reporter what he thought of the deal (which had allegedly already been sent, albeit informally, by Snyder over drinks) and he said he didn’t know anything about it. I thought that was a strange timeline for signing players, that the owner has contemplated a deal before the team President and Head Coach is aware of what is going on. That suggested to me some meddling beyond what I’d prefer.
