Why Dallas Will Win
Even though this is a rivalry game and records mean less in these games, it would be illogical to assume that Washington will win this game. No, the Dallas Cowboys have the edge in almost every phase of the game going into this contest. Let's review the big reasons why Dallas will win;
O(line) My Goodness: the Cowboys sport the second heaviest offensive line in the NFL with a pro bowl left tackle and two interior pro bowl linemen. While Philadelphia created outside pressure and Green Bay was sporadically able to create some inside push, neither team was able to get to Romo consistently enough to disrupt the offensive output. After 3 games, 2 of which were against very good defensive teams, the Cowboys have the #1 offense in the NFL at 440 yards per game. What makes Dallas even more dangerous is the emergence of Felix Jones as the perfect complement to Marion Barber's brutal, punishing style of running.
Cooley Shmooley: Chris Cooley has had big days against Dallas over the past several years particularly because of Roy Williams' inability to stay with athletic TE's. In addition, he is a terrific and heady player. In this go around however, Williams is out and Dallas will play two safeties with much greater coverage ability, thus limiting Cooley's receptions and YAC.
Short Fields: Dallas is quietly developing the best set of kick returners in the conference this side of Devin Hester. Adam (don't call me you-know-what...) Jones and Felix Jones (no relation, thankfully) are electrifying in the return game and a threat to score on every touch. Giving the league's most prolific offense 50 or 60 yard fields amounts to a long day for opposing defenses. Adam is due for a PR touchdown.
Double Trouble: The Skins are faced with the unseemly task of picking their poison. Doubling T.O. with safety help over the top allows the aforementioned mammoth line to open up holes for the RB's. Take away Witten and you'll see T.O. duplicate his 4 TD performance from last year. Stack the box and Romo has a field day. Neither the Giants, Saints nor Cards have brought such a balanced and imposing offense to bear against what looks to be a very solid skins defense. Rumor has it Greg Blache is waking up in a cold sweat every night. Wouldn't you?
In summary, as long as the Cowboys and Redskins play to their potential, this game looks like a win for Dallas.

Philly
but they are fat…

yes
the cowboys will overwhelm the redskins with their overwhelming statistics.
why the redskins will win:
the redskins lead the league in turnover margin at +5. they have yet to turn the ball over this season. the cowboys, on the other hand, are ranked 30th at -3. jason campbell will be able to move the ball through the air on the 19th ranked cowboys pass defense and clinton portis will be able to run effectively enough to control the clock. tony romo will add to his season total of 4 turnovers and give the redskins offense extra opportunities. the cowboys offense may be effective when its on the field, but it wont have enough opportunities to win the game.
looking forward to the game on the field, just as soon as we get done with the game on paper.
Really?
Because the Cowboys have the 6th overall run defense so Clinton is gonna get talliwhacked. And yea our TO margin is deplorable, but it’s made up for by our T.O. margin (haha I just made that up). Again, all bets are off in a rivalry game, or in this case, THE rivalry game. You guys can’t possibly scorch our D the way Philly did, and we still won that game. I don’t see you guys lasting much longer than the 1st half…

because santana moss has pretty much made a habit of it, averaging over 100 yards against you since 2005. too bad his whipping boy roy williams wont be around this time, but it wont matter. you have the 6th ranked run d, but against who? the browns, a passing team, playing from behind, the eagles, a passing team, and the packers with a banged up ryan grant, playing from behind, so that doesnt really scare me. owens has had all of 1 big game against the redskins in his career, so that doesnt scare me as much as youd like to think it does.
The only chance
The skins have is to create turnovers and hope the cowboys penchant for untimely penalties continues to be a trend. I don’t think Portis will be able to control the clock against a stout run defense such as Dallas. You can also count on Santana Moss being doubled most of the game. I think Cooley will be the key for the skins…Dallas will need to limit his touches and securely tackle to limit his yards after the catch.
Yes Dallas ranks near the bottom of the league in turnover ratio. But their offense is so good (avg.32 points per game) they are able to overcome those miscues. Dalls’ Defense shut down a pretty good Green Bay offense Sunday night…one IMO that is much more talented than the Redskins.
Of course all of this is on paper…and thats why they play the games. But according to vegas the cowboys are worth about 10 points more than the skins at home. I personally think the Cowboys cover…but I’m kinda biased towards my boyz!
I do think it will be a good game though….until the third quarter at least!

So much for
Dallas’ run defense, double covering Moss, etc.

its really simple
no pressure on Romo= Cowboys win big
If Philly or GB can’t get to him, neither will you guys
In Romo we Trust
We did it
even without Jason Taylor.

Funny
no one has mentioned Dallas’ 1 rushing yard in the last game between the skins and cowboys.
TTB!
Why
Giving the Giants, Philly or any other team a voice on HH is fine but Dallas just can’t stand them or the fans…Why give them the time or effort.
Hail Redskins!
Hard as I may try
I can’t imagine a scenario where the Skins pull off a win. It’s unfathomable. I can see how they may be able to keep it close for a quarter or so. I predict that by the end of the 3rd quarter this game will already be over.
-1
Dallas won it’s only game in Aikman’s first season (and Steve Walsh was the QB!) against the Redskins who clearly outmanned them in every phase of the game that year.
The most wonderful thing about the NFL is that the ‘any given Sunday’ principle still holds true and that fans of even the worst teams, can hold real hope for victory against a better team.
But lets keep it real here…
Dallas 44
Redskins 20

Keeping it real
Dallas will not score over 30 points, the question will be can the Dallas Defense keep Washington from scoring more than 30 to achieve the win.
Are you really keeping it real?
I admire your enthusiasm, but you guys havent hung 30 on anyone this year. Got close with New Orleans, who has the 28th ranked defense. Got 24 against Arizona, who has the 8th ranked defense, playing less than offensive juggernaut type teams in San Fran & Miami (who hadnt revealed it’s single wing offense yet).
Granted, you guys are getting better each week as Campbell and the rest of the offense get more comfortable with the west coast scheme. But our D is no joke, ranked 9th overall and that includes playing Philly and Green Bay who are damn good offenses. Your D is above average, ranked 13th overall. But you are missing Taylor, which will most likely hamper your pass rush pretty badly. And you are going up against the No. 1 ranked offense in the league.
obviously you have no clue how good
the Cowboys are, they can put 30 pts on ANY defense in the league, especially the Skins D.
In Romo we Trust
We should really relish this.
And take our time making fun of this guy.

wait what??
you must not have been trying hard enough
Ok let me try here
TO had a big game if you can remember last year because sean taylor was out and reed doughty was in. Reed has improved a lot this year. I would also like to see some Chris Horton in there he seems to be great. Laron landry is even better than last year. He is just flyiing around out there. Run defense as it was stated before were from none running teams that were trailing. The redskins have faced a good and maybe three of the best offenses this year so far. We faced Giants, Saints, and Cards all who have good offenses. So I dont think the cowboys really scare us.
Where's all the Dallas fans now?
Skins are going to go 2-0 against the boys this year and will be in the playoffs. If we can beat Dallas at Dallas we’re not losing against anyone this year if we play up to our capabilities. Redskins are going to win the division this year, it’s official!

OK
With a lump in my throat, I want to congratulate the Redskins on an outstanding game. Washington outplayed Dallas in every facet (unless I missed something) of the game.
Congrats on a great win. Well deserved.
