Depth Chart Out People! Randoms..

The Washington Redskins released the preseason depth chart and they're aren't really any surprises. I guess the team acttually has to play a couple of game first before they're any changes. Things I did notice that could or could not be a sign(s)

Colt Brennan: 3rd string listing, from what I hear Derrick not so Devine is having a bad camp. Nice rebound from injury Colt.

WR's: For those of you who thought James Thrash is on his way out, he's listed 2nd string and is having a great camp. Remember started with Philly & their WCO. Devin Thomas 2nd string, Malcolm Kelly & Anthony Mix round out 3rd string. That makes six WR's on the roster. Is that the number they plan to go with?

DT: Anthony Montgomery wins the competion for now.

FS & SS: Stuart Schweigert is backing LaRon Landry at FS and isn't even listed at SS which means fan favriote Reed Doughty is the starting SS.

P: Derrick Frost is ahead of Durant Brooks which is utter bullshit but I understand that this is wil take care of itself during the preseason..bye bye Frost.

Randoms:

The Insider reports that Zarnell Fitch din't have time to get cozy because he's been released. The Skins signed another D-Lineman but no word on who the mystery D-linemen is.  H.B. Blades is scheduled to have arthroscopic knee surgery today and should be out 3 weeks. I look for a LB signing at some point before the preseason but who do they release to make room? Rocky McIntosh and Carlos Rogers are participating in individual drills but are being slowly brought back to full speed.

Depth Chart

Looking it over, it appears to be more of a starting point based on the finishing point and draft picks, I don’t think it lists any wins for position at this point. It’ll be interesting to watch how it changes, and the number of players per position kept. Fitch is not listed on the depth chart, nor is a replacement, but I still count 80 so maybe I’m missing something or mis-counted.

My count ...

is only 66. What am I missing? Did I miss a screen or something??

80 on the roster (Fitch is still there) but only 66 on the depth chart (not counting Suisham, Frost, Brooks, Albright, Cartwright, Thrash, and Randel El in both positions).

Well...

some positions that have people on the roster (like WR) don’t have any additional slots to add people to. We have more than 3 RBs on the roster, but not more than 3 depth chart spots.

Go register. Or else.

Cornerbacks...

either Carlos Rogers is above Springs on the chart or Leigh Torrence is above Fred Smoot and Byron Westbrook is above Tryon.

Go register. Or else.

WOW check out this endorsment! other good news

From the offical site:

Asked about competition between Reed Doughty and Schweigert, defensive coordinator Greg Blache said: “Reed’s our safety. Stuart has to earn a roster spot on this football team.”

Wow dosen’t get more solid then that.

Carlos Rodgers participated in the full practice and might even be able to play in the preseason. Way better then the orginal target of the season opner! Finally some good news out of Redskins Park..oh an Maclom Kelly was also on the field

In the middle of "real life"

I guess I cannot count or read, either way with the players left off and the players listed the team has to shrink to 53 over the next 4 weeks. Who is kept and who is released? Do you increase depth at a particular position or does the Redskins go with a “typical” staffing. What is the typical staffing?
