Even the most casual college football fan remembers the 2007 Appalachian State-Michigan game. The Mountaineers were world-beaters as they shocked then 5th ranked Michigan, in Ann Arbor no less: 34-32. Personally, as a PSU fan I took much joy from this.
Rookie free agent Kerry Brown was on that squad of world-beaters that ruined the hopes of offensive tackle Jake Long, quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart. You would think that players like these now in the NFL would let bygones be bygones. Well you're wrong: As AppFan.com details, Kerry Brown is easy to spot on the sidelines due to the fact that he's catching hell for his connection to the infamous upset. If Mr Brown gets cut, he can find a job as the assistant equipment guy.
"This one’s Jon Jansen’s," Brown said, referring to the Redskins’ veteran tackle who is a–gulp–Michigan alum. "He came over to me and said, ‘Hey, rook. Carry my helmet. Where’s Appalachian State now?’
Zing! Pow! Jon Jason isn't the only one utilizing Kerry Brown's services. Remember that Appalachian St rules Division I FCS (still frequently known by its former name of Division I-AA). Other Redskins who have Kerry Brown on speed dial:
At least five - Nehemiah Broughton of The Citadel, Derrick Frost of Northern Iowa, and Wolverines Jansen, Todd Collins and Tyler Ecker. (Chad Rinehart of UNI is a fellow rookie).
Somebody quickly adopt this Redskin for he doesn't seem to have a friend in the world.
