Redskins Chances Defined for a superbowl run...
It's been awhile but the cpt... has been making great posts, so no need to post but I came across a review of the Redskins chances to win the superbowl in 2008, and amazingly liked the story.Il
I learned at a young age to never bet on the Redskins, not because they are not a good bet but because the "heart" gets in the way of "real" thinking.
As a fan a positive write-up by anyone is something to be shared, BetUS.Com has a story on the Redskins which is very informative and in my opinion an honest evaluation of the way the team could perform in 2008:
NFL Football Betting - Redskins Breakthrough This Season by D.S Williamson
The off-Season for the Redskins is one of continuity and change, with Williamson pointing out that the Redskins have gone through significant change this off-season.
Is there another team in the National Football League that has gone through more serious changes then the Washington Redskins? I think not! The ‘Skins made the biggest change of the off-season by hiring Jim Zorn as their head coach.
While I would question other changes which have occured at Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore etc as more significant, I would have to agree that of the potential playoff teams the Washington Redskins have made some of the biggest changes.
Williamson goes on to talk about the change of direction by Daniel Snyder with the choice of Zorn as head coach. He praised Zorn's immediate move towards offense in the draft and highlighted the offensive weapons the Redskins can have this year.
Zorn wasted no time in securing the ‘Skin’s offense by using Washington’s first three picks on offensive skill position players. The Redskins found a way to draft two of the top wide-receiver prospects in this year’s draft in Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelley. Not only do both players have sub 4.5 speed, but they both are big, physical, targets. That should help Santana Moss, the ‘Skins best wide receiver, and Jason Campbell.
Zorn also drafted the highly-touted tight-end Fred Davis from the University of Southern California. Make no mistake, Washington’s starting tight-tend, Chris Cooley, is one of the best, but getting a guy like Davis will pay immediate dividends. Putting Davis on one side and Cooley on the other could really open things up for that Redskins’ offense. Clinton Portis is also back which means Zorn has a plethora of weapons that he can play with.
Wraps up the article in several cool ways while pushing the betting angle but then the report comes from Betus.com...go figure
1. Big picture on the Redskins 45-1 favorites to win the Superbowl
So, the offense is set, the defense is good, and the right coach appears to be at the helm. For BetUS online sportsbook fans looking to make a wager on this team to win the Super Bowl, only one question remains - - do the odds on the Washington Redskins correctly reflect their chances to upset some of the other teams in the NFL and hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy come early 2009?
2. Slams the Dallas Cowboys
They play in one of the toughest divisions in football with the overrated Dallas Cowboys getting a whole heap of attention, the Philadelphia Eagles still putting up a fight, and the Super Bowl reigning champion New York Giants looking to repeat.
3. Clearly defines how the team will perform depends on Jason Campbell, and then pushes the bet as a good one...really they want bettors at BETUS.com.
Once a team makes the playoffs, anything can happen. Just ask the Giants. That means that the emphasis this season will be on Jason Campbell developing into a serviceable quarterback as that is the only way this Washington team makes the playoffs. With the weapons that Zorn has placed around him, this is Campbell’s year. Either he breaks through or he doesn’t.
That’s the key for the Redskins - - Jason Campbell. At 45 to 1 odds, I’m willing to make an online wager that says he does break through and the Redskins at least put themselves into a position to make a Super Bowl run.
I will not be betting, not that I don't think the odds are good and the payoff could be great but I learned too many years ago that no matter how much sense it appears to make on betting the Redskins I can't do it because the mind is clouded by the heart but enjoy the article is does provide a good analysis and a positive one on your Washington Redskins.

I have a hard enough time playing fantacy football against others who’ve got Redskin players on their team let alone betting on them ha ha. I did place a $100 bet on the Skins vs Dolphins last year and that was enough stress for me to last some time.
I do enjoy a positive article on our Skins as they are few and far between. Betting on anything that can be clouded by the heart is a very risky and not recommended for the weak of heart.
Go here to see dramatic results that have to do with the Redskins and what can happen when betting on them during their last super bowl.

Damn you.
I’m a degenerate gambler and need little reason to throw money at my Redskins, but you’ve provided the impetus.
Very good diary, I rec’d it, I hope others do too.
i
haven’t bet on the skins much lately cause i don’t wanna cause there’s so much heartache, but they did give me my first huge win in my young betting career. A few years ago when brunell jumped into a time machine and led the skins back againt the cowboys on monda night with the two long TDs to sanana. $500 on that, and ever since I’ve been a degenerate. Yay!!!! But I agree, betting on the skins is tough for me. 45-1 is probably decent odds, i think the giants were 30-1 last year, not that that means anything for this year’s skins team. I don’t like those articles on betting sites cause they’re so obviously biased, but good post. I rec’d it too.
