In addition to resigning Caldwell and hopefully McCardell as well, I think we need to take a serious look at Javon Walker.
Granted, he has had injury problems worse than any other WR of his caliber the last few seasons (season-enders in GB and DEN, and he barely played last year).
Javon Walker is still a viable option at WR. He's 30 years old, but has barely played the last few seasons so he would probably be fairly fresh. He's listed at 6'3 and is fast and has terrific hands. He's a great long ball option in addition to Randle-el and, of course, Santana.
If we sign Walker and keep on Anthony Mix, Caldwell/McCardell/both, and then the obvious Moss and Randle El, We would have more than a capable WR corps. We would have a ridiculous WR corps. We wouldn't have to break the bank for Randy Moss, or a WR in the first round of the draft. Javon Walker may be our answer. And according to Michael Smith, we're one of the ten teams who have showed interested in Walker (he was recently released by the Broncos).
What do you guys think?
