Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Important Anniversary Coming Up

Update [2008-2-8 19:42:4 by Skin Patrol]: This is your NFL Pro Bowl open thread; game is this Sunday. As you probably know, Taylor's teammates at the game will be wearing 21. That's an admirable memorial to Taylor, though nothing does him justice as the video below. Sean Taylor leveled people, and I loved watching him for it.

If you dont like that hit
then you dont like football!

I come across a negative comment here and there about that hit.

To them i say this. There are not many players in the league who can hit like that. Just a few at best.

That is what made him so special. His size and speed is what everyone talks about but i will add that his impecable timing and ability to find that specific point on the ball carriers body to lay people out, without hurting himself, the way he did is what seperated him from every other player in the NFL.

Its not only a testament to his god given abilities but to his mind as well.

Throw in he was just really starting to find his niche in becoming a ball hawk also. And athletes that lift their entire lives dont really peak until their late 20's or so, depending. Hard to swallow that we wont see that.

So upsetting, and i miss him dearly.

BTW
Anyone else think that dan has setup the 3 ring circus at redskins park or is it just me.

In something related...
but sad, here is the report of the autopsy's findings, but I must warn you, the details are very graphic.

Sad.

Sorry to ruin the festivities.  Back to football, eh?

When my children ask
"Daddy, who is Sean Taylor?", I'll start by showing them that video.

RIP 21.

Everytime
I saw the replay, the smile on my face crept closer to a grin until it became laughter.  I loathed the criticism that Sean faced because of that hit-and it's the same reason why I may not watch the Pansy Bowl tomorrow.  No bitzing, no trips, some other BS I cannot remember-it's not football, it's grown men playing two-hand touch in pretty outfits-IT'S GARBAGE.  I'd play harder with my two year old daughter.
