The non-playoff post season, where everyone speculates but who has the goods?
Your Washington Redskins are not in the post season, along with 20 other teams which means things will begin to happen but mostly rumors will begin to fly on this, that and everything.
Three coaches are already gone...with one of the Redskin coaches interviewing and confirmed by the Times at Redskins 360. note: Mayhew was drafted by Buffalo before moving to Washington.
Over at All Hail, Washington Redskins, SkinAholic lists the quick top-10 rumors to watch, at
#8 Redskins CB’s – This drama lands close to home for all us Skins fans. Surely all 4 of the Redskins CB’s will not make the final roster. Will Shawn Springs finally take a pay cut and play some safety? Will DeAngelo Hall get that contract extension he is looking for? (Rumors are negations have already begun) Will Carlos Rogers be the odd man out? (According to Jason La Confora of the Washington Post) Will the Skins keep our beloved SMOOOOTTT? Not the way he has been playing. I can see a lot of drama unfolding with one or two of these guys this off-season !
Both Redskin insider(Washington Posts) and Redskins 360 (Washington Times) notes this based on comments which were asked.
Rogers, Possibly on the Way Out.
Unless I am mistaken, isn't Rogers undercontract for 2009? Yes, it's a bad situation with the potential 2010 NFL situation, but no different than Campbell's situation. Hall and Rogers would be an excellent young set of CBs for a team to build a secondary around. It seems more a media driven issue than a real issue, it makes no sense for Washington to do contract extensions in 2008 for 2009. It's the business side of the NFL, I hope Cambell and Rogers can get over it and have a good 2009 season...
