Q & A The Seahawks Freelancer

If you have been to other SB Nation blogs, you know I've been answering questions about the 2-8 Seattle Seahawks. After a 1 week hiatus it is back!!!

Just to reintroduce myself, I'm SSreporters, an SB Nation user, writer at Stupid Sideline Reporters, Seahawks fan and I cannot stand the Dallas Cowboys organization. Been happy that the Redskins are doing well considering that they employed a lot of Seahawks members.

Any questions about the team or this weekend's game and fire away!! Because it's a lot more exciting than watching this offense.

I'll bite...

how healthy is Hasselback? And why the f isn’t Jones scoring for my fantasy team?

Yes, I am a nerd.

Ouch, don't bite me there!

Hass is not very healthy, he was limping last week on one of his sacks and has been limited in practice this week. He will probably play though. Not that it matters, Hasselbeck has been terrible this season and is terrible on the deep ball. His numbers compared to Seneca Wallace have Wallace outperforming him.

Jones is not scoring for your fantasy team because TJ Duckett is. Duckett has 6 touchdowns and Jones has the other 2 (Jones’ TDs though have been 25+). When it is short yardage then Julius Jones is out of the equation and TJ McMuscle is in.

Jones got off to a hot start and has had many average games, but I can’t blame him completely though. The offensive line has been banged up and when the opposition is bringing 8 in the box because Holmgren’s running plays are so friggin predictable, no one has a chance.

The other reason is Holmgren is, and has always been a pass-first coach. Shaun Alexander is the best running back he has had and even he might not make it to the Hall-of-Fame. It’s all about the QB, we are in the bottom half of the league in rushing attempts. Part of it is because we’ve been behind a lot, but the other part is just stubbornness IMHO. So much talent at the RB position yet so wasted.

Finally, even when Holmgren is using the pass, it seems that screen plays with Jones are rare. He’s rarely used for even a checkdown. The one time they went to Jones out in the flat last week was when Hass was under pressure and threw a pass to the other side of the field where Jones was, and he got swallowed up. The lack of screen passes (and we even scored from a screen pass with Morris) is appalling.

Your fantasy team needs Duckett, not Jones BTW. ;-)

Seattle, the world's worst sports city.

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
