Shaun Alexander
Word is that the Redskins are bringing him in for a workout tomorrow and if all goes well, he will sign with the team.
I've always been curious what, if anything, Shaun Alexander had left. If he is fully healed, maybe he can spell Portis a bit while Betts is recovering from his injury. There's no way he can get back to his old form. Worth a shot I think. Another veteran in the locker room with playoff experience doesn't hurt. Maybe he can hang out with Jason Taylor when he feels like an outsider.
He already knows the system from Seattle so there wouldn't be much adjustment. It's a cool idea if anything.

Seahawks fan here (sadly), I come in peace
Shaun Alexander is soft, I mean he is mega soft. It is common for him to go down on first contact, has no cut back ability, and as you said, he’s been hurt.
If I’m a Redskin fan I’m hoping Portis can carry a heavier load because if Shaun is running 10 times then you’re in trouble.
Good luck the rest of the season!

eh
when youre bringing in someone and you need him to contribute right away, already knowing the system is a big deal. word is that we might put betts on ir, so that means alexander becomes a factor immediately. i would agree that he doesnt have much left in the tank, but for the vet min, we kind of have to.

If someone can explain to me
Why a team like Cinci would prefer to sign a headcase like Cedric Benson (other than “he fits right in”) over Shawn then I might feel better about this.
How about we just ask Baltimore to give us Marcus Mason back. Pretty please?
