QB controversy
Interesting how the NFL goes.
Last week the talk of the league was Bledsoe. The league had passed him by. Tony Romo was waiting in the wings. Parcells would have a quick hook if things didn't go right.
So Bledsoe comes in and plays a solid game (despite our receivers having a bad case of the dropsies). The defense dominates Washington's inept offense garnering six sacks, holding Brunell to under 80 passing for three quarters, blanketing Saint Moss and only giving up three points to the offense.
Now the talk shifts.
To Brunell.
Has the game passed Brunell by? Should Campbell be the guy?
I don't know. Really don't care. That's not true. On some level, I am interested. The Deadskin offense seems to have some horses (Moss, Cooley, a decent O-line) and coaches that get paid more than the cast on Friends. Seems like all the pieces are there but for some reason the final product don't taste like kool-aid.
It will be interesting to see how Gibbs reacts. What if the offense struggles against the Texans? What if Portis' injury takes him longer to recovery than first imagined? Can the Deadskins afford to wait for Brunell to pick up his level of play?
Bledsoe was asked how long will his performance hold off calls for his job. "About a week or so," he said.
Maybe Brunell should have Bledsoe on speed dial.

I don't think it's an unfair question
I think the way Brunell played at least -- at least -- justifies a legitimate discussion of our QB situation. I don't think any player has a starting spot guaranteed on a team, though Quarterback is a position where continuity is a premium to be valued over many other factors. That said, there was nothing in the game to suggest the Redskins would win a single game, let alone 9-10 for another playoff run, with Brunell at the helm. He needs to step up pronto.
